Shell History Suggest Box

Description

Are you looking for a command that you used recently? Do you want to avoid the need to write long commands over and over again? Are you looking for a tool that is able to manage your favorite commands?

HSTR (HiSToRy) is a command line utility that brings improved bash/zsh command completion from the history. It aims to make completion easier and more efficient than Ctrl-r.

HSTR can also manage your command history (for instance you can remove commands that are obsolete or contain a piece of sensitive information) or bookmark your favorite commands.

Perfect Software

Perfect software is not necessarily the best software - it is perfect simply because it does exactly what you want, how do you want it and when you want it. The YAGNI - You Aren't Gonna Need It - mantra protects software from wasting time and resources on implementing anything and everything.

The HSTR project is perfect to me. Even if project's main branch does not receive updates frequently, be sure that I use it every day - many many times. I add a small feature here or there or fix a bug. In other words, the project is not and will not be dead.

If you have any ideas, suggestions, news to share, or constructive criticism to share, do not hesitate to contact me! Please do not be offended if your GitHub issue or bug report is not implemeted - IAGNI.
